WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) today announced that he will serve as the Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment. Rounds served as the Ranking Member of the subcommittee during the 118th Congress.

“I am pleased to chair the Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment for the 119th Congress,” said Rounds. “This committee has an important role in furthering policies that will positively impact the financial industry in South Dakota and across the country. My priorities for the subcommittee include: promoting policies that encourage economic growth, capital formation and investor protection; protecting our state-based insurance system; reforming and reauthorizing the National Flood Insurance Program; and developing legislation to ultimately remove the government-sponsored enterprises from conservatorship.”
