Rounds Encourages High School Students to Attend Service Academy Days
Deadline for Class of 2029 Applications is October 1, 2024
WASHINGTON – Staff from the office of U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) will be holding Service Academy Days in Rapid City and Sioux Falls to give interested students and their families an opportunity to learn more about the U.S. service academies and the application process.
“Each year, I am honored to nominate our nation’s future military leaders to U.S. service academies,” said Rounds. “By attending an academy, not only will students have the opportunity to serve our nation and help lead the best military in the world, but they will receive an excellent education at a top-notch institution. I encourage young South Dakotans who are interested in more information to stop by and visit with my staff.”

WHERE: South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Classroom Building Room 309, 501 East Saint Joseph Street
WHAT: Service Academy Day in Sioux Falls
WHEN: Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM CT
WHERE: Sioux Falls Downtown Library, Meeting Room A, 200 North Dakota Avenue
Applications for the 2025-2026 freshman class (Class of 2029) are due by October 1, 2024. Nominations are available for the following institutions: the United States Air Force Academy, United States Military Academy at West Point, United States Naval Academy at Annapolis and United States Merchant Marine Academy.
