New Amendment Requires More Transparency Within Federal Agencies

U.S. Senator Mike Rounds is looking to protect hard working South Dakota taxpayers.

Rounds introduced an amendment to the budget resolution Thursday that would require Congress to include findings from Inspectors General when examining ways to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse within federal agencies.

The current budget resolution calls for Congressional oversight committees to examine the Government Accountability Office's High Risk List when finding ways to reduce waste. Rounds' amendment would add Inspector General semi-annual reports.

The senator says Congress owes it to South Dakota taxpayers to make certain their hard-earned dollars are spent wisely in Washington.
