Energy independence is of vital importance to our national security. Americans should be using American energy from domestic sources rather than relying on our adversaries – like Russia and Iran – to heat their homes and start their cars. To create energy independence, I believe we need an “all of the above” approach, using wind, solar and hydropower to complement our proven energy sources. Maintaining steady, balanced energy production will also allow the United States to export additional energy around the world to grow our economy.
