Providing children with a loving home is one of the greatest gifts anyone can give. Strong families are an important pillar of society that help bring stability to communities and teach core values to future generations. Every child deserves the love and support that a family provides. I applaud those who are committed to strong and healthy families.
Each year, I have the opportunity to nominate an outstanding family or organization from South Dakota to receive an Angels in Adoption award. Our office is currently accepting nominations for next year’s award.
Staff Profile
Adam Kaemingk is my State Director based in Rapid City. He and his wife, Hayley, have experienced the joys of adoption and serve as local advocates for families considering the journey.
“Just like our three biological children, Theo is loved, wanted and chosen. Nine months ago he was the boy that didn’t know the love of a family. He didn’t know a mommy, daddy or crazy siblings. He was the boy who only stared at his fingers. He couldn’t stand, walk or feed himself. Today he is the boy who is loved. He knows when he cries, he will be held. He calls us mommy and daddy. He looks into our eyes instead of down. He talks, walks, laughs and --yes, sasses us. He is learning to trust us. God is an exquisite author. We love the story He wrote for us. We just had to be obedient, patient and let go.”
